This is an original antique monograph on the subject of Eugenics published in
1909. The cover tile reads:
HEREDITY AND CRIME. A Study in Eugenics. – William H. Carmalt, M.D., New
Haven, Conn.
The front cover also indicates “Read at the 117th Annual Convention of the
Connecticut State Medical Society, Hartford, May 6, 1909”. William H. Carmalt
was a surgeon during the Civil War, a professor of both ophthalmology and
surgery at Yale and later a member of the board of directors at New Haven
Hospital.
This is a booklet format of 38 pages plus a blank page at the end and the
covers measuring about 6.25” x 9.25”. Overall condition is very good with
some toning from age and moderate handling wear. Email any questions. Thanks
